PACE CNY Hosts:
Eden at Home Trainer Certification Workshop: Creating Quality of Life for Care Partner Teams
Bringing Eden Principles and Practices to Home and Community-Based Care and Services

Eden at Home (EAH) applies the Eden Alternative’s Ten-Principle Philosophy to improving quality of life for Elders living at home and their care partners.  A community-based approach to person-centered care, EAH focuses on building collaborative care partner teams that include the active participation of the Elder herself.   Working together, empowered care partner teams help to ensure the independence, dignity, and continued growth and development of our Elder care partners and each other.

Those in attendance will be poised to have the CARE PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS in place to be able to spread and disseminate EAH Care Partner Workshops by creating the kind of care and services we all want for our loved ones and ourselves, and helping people who need people have a better quality of life.

After the three-day training, Certified Trainers will be equipped to inspire care partners both within their organization and out in the community, to:

  • Reframe perceptions of aging and disability
  • Work together to reduce stress & burnout
  • Build strategies on strengths, rather than limitations
  • Develop meaningful connections with each other
  • Create opportunities for all to give as well as receive
  • Communicate effectively & thoughtfully
  • Share joy, hope, wisdom, spontaneity & respect
  • Prevent loneliness, helplessness & boredom for everyone on the care partner team
Who may want an Eden at Home Certified Trainer on staff?
Non-profit organizations, state agencies, home health organizations, faith-based organizations, Area Agencies on Aging, hospitals, hospices, senior centers, adult day services, independent living communities, and long-term care organizations with home health outreach or an interest in supporting the ongoing needs after rehabilitation.  Becoming a replicating organization enables you to have a Certified Trainer on staff to deliver the EAH Care Partner Workshops to YOUR consumers, clients and staff.
